Recently the Nibbana team took a trip to Townsville. Most of us had never been there before so it was all very exciting. Townsville is a lovely city with many things to do and many ways to connect with nature and animals.

Townsville, North Queensland is a bustling and vibrant destination boasting diversity in landscape.  Whether you prefer scuba diving wrecks on the Great Barrier Reef, snorkeling the reefs around Magnetic Island or just relaxing by a pool, you can do that here.

Most excitingly, if you want to see Koala’s, Kangaroo’s and Crocodiles you will not be disappointed with the many tours that are available.

For ultimate relaxation we recommend a trip to Magnetic Island.

Magnetic Island is only 25 minutes ferry ride from Townsville, approximately half way between Cairns and the Whitsundays/Airlie Beach, within the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage listed area – and it’s where you’ll find a host of hidden treasures or adventure.

Nearly 70% of Magnetic Island (approx. 5184 hectares) is National Park. Take a long walk on one of the guided trails and connect with nature. Bliss.

Or if your idea of a good time is getting up close and personal with the locals. (Koala, Kangaroo or a Crocodile) You can go to the Billabong Sanctuary at the Australian Native Animal Wildlife Park.

There you will meet Koalas, Crocodiles, Wombats, Dingoes, Kangaroos, Pythons and birds like Cassowaries

Meet and greet your favourite Australian animals here in a tropical bushland setting on the shores of the billabong.

With reef, rainforest, outback and wetlands all within an hour or two of Townsville, North Queensland, it’s hard to go past this region for while you are on holiday in Townsville.

Now be sure not to overdo it. Taking a holiday shouldn’t turn into a stressful activity. There is no need to be a part of every single activity a place has to offer. Just pick a couple and be sure to schedule in plenty of ‘doing nothing’ days and make sure someone else is doing all of the cooking!

3 Home Massage Techniques for Decreasing Stress Levels

Many of us lead very busy, stressful lives. At the end of the day we come home and collapse into bed. Only to get up and do it all again the next day. How about a bit of ‘me’ time?

One of the best ways to relax and de-stress is through massage. If you have the funds, a visit to a day spa is amazing. If not, you and a partner can replicate some of the techniques at home.

Pick a quiet room and light some aromatic candles. Next, pick your massage type

3  Home Massage Techniques for Decreasing Stress Levels

1. Traditional Massage – have your partner pour a little oil on their hands. Lie on your stomach and ask them to begin the massage with broad sweeping stokes over the entire back. Fingertips can be used around the neck area, remember to have your partner adjust the pressure to suit.

2. Soy Candle Massage – you are in for a treat. Soy massage candles are lit long enough for a small pool of wax to melt. The flame is then put out and the wax is cooled slightly. Pour a little on your hands and use to massage the body. Choose a fragrance you love and you will be in heaven. Over at http://www.craftabusiness.com.au you can learn all about how to make your scented candles

3. Foot Massage – for tired, stressed feet. Try soaking in a foot spa with a few drops of essential oils. Leave you feet there for 20 minutes or more and use the time to catch up on a good book. Your partner can then dry off your feet and massage the balls and heels of the feet using some lotion.

Remember – it is not recommend to massage the spine directly.
